As I entered perimenopause, I noticed my skin changing. Everything I tried felt like it was just sitting on top of my face instead of nourishing it. My skin still felt dry. Tight. Thirsty. None of the store-bought lotions were doing what I needed them to do.

So I did what any curious, stubborn woman with maturing skin would do —
I started researching. Deeply.
Essential oils. Natural ingredients. Traditional skincare fats. And that’s when I found tallow.

At the same time, my husband was struggling with severe sensitivity on his face. I bought him expensive lotions, balms and creams — the kind you hope will be miracle workers — but they actually made things worse. His skin burned. Turned red. Reacted to everything.

Back to research I went.

That’s when tallow and manuka honey entered our home. I made a simple balm… and for the first time, his skin didn’t burn, the redness faded. His skin felt soothed, calmed and moisturized in a way nothing else had been able to do.

As a registered nurse, caring for people has always been in my bones. Helping others feel better — naturally — is why I chose my profession in the first place. So when I saw how these handcrafted, simple, time-honored ingredients helped both of us, a little spark grew into something bigger.
